How to Get Rid of IBS

You get dressed up for the dinner with your friends but by the time you step out from your house you feel bloated or have sudden attack of diarrhea. These are just the few symptoms of IBS. IBS is a common problem that affects many of us. People suffering from IBS have symptoms such as stomach spasms, trapped wind, constipation and diarrhea. Generally IBS is more common in women who are between the ages of 20 and 40. IBS is definitely not life threatening but at the same time it definitely affects the quality of life.

Relax: Practice relaxation techniques such as meditation and yoga, It helps to relieve stress and could also ease your IBS symptoms. Everyday during morning and evening take some basil leaves and chew it for some time. Doing this brings down stress and it also improves digestion and strengthens the immune system.

Note Down: Note down the foods you take daily and track the foods that ease the symptoms and that which makes worse. Keep an eye on foods like dietary fiber, chocolate, milk products, caffeine, and alcohol.

Drink water: Keep your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Water can relieve constipation and it also needed to keep you hydrated during diarrhea. Sometimes you may experience burning sensation or uneasiness in your stomach after eating certain oily foods or so. Taking a glass of hot water after eating makes the food to get digested easily and you won’t feel that uneasiness.

Physical Activity: By exercising regularly you can curb IBS symptoms. If you have been exercising then increase the time. Exercise can be yoga, pilates, jogging, etc. After having a meal don’t sit immediately. Just walk for some 5 or 10 minutes and then get back to your seat.

Take Natural: Probiotics helps to keep your digestive system healthy. You can get them from miso soup, soft cheeses and live yogurt. You can chew peppermint often as it aids in digestion.

  1. Now how do you live with both diarrhea+prone IBS as wll as a hiatus hernia? Doesn’t leave much to eat at all! Any advice?
