How to Sleep Better
Even though it does feel good to sleep in some mornings, there are many reasons as well as benefits as to why many people wake up early on a regular basis.
Silence. If you are not the only one in your home, getting up early may provide you with some much needed silence. This is a great time to prepare for the day or this time can be used to read, meditate or reflect on what needs to be accomplished that day.
Exercise. It can be very difficult to fit exercise into a daily schedule, especially if you work, have kids or other commitments. Waking up early gives you a chance to get in that exercise. Regular morning exercise will keep you fit, active and fresh for rest of the day.
Breakfast. Many people today are in such a hurry in the morning that there is no time to eat breakfast. If more time is given to the morning session, breakfast can be taken in a much relaxed way. Many sources say that breakfast is the most important meal of the entire day. A nutritious breakfast is a great way to start a successful day.
Health maintenance. The human body has a virtual clock known as its biological clock where all activities are prescheduled, including the secretion of enzymes and hormones. The body is made to sleep at night and be active during the day; therefore a fixed schedule of getting up early as well as sleeping early is very important for the body to stay healthy.
Time to prepare for the time. Setting a good foundation sets you up for a more successful day. Waking up early gives you time to fully prepare for the day, doing things like showering, ironing, making lunches, making a to-do list, etc.
Timeliness. Getting up early simply gives you more time to get ready, out the door and to where you need to be on time without having to rush.
Commute. Most time, the earlier you leave for a destination, the less traffic there will be. Waking up earlier allows you to leave earlier and avoid a lot of traffic. Even if there is huge traffic you will reach the place in time as you have started earlier.
Makes for a better, longer night’s sleep. If you wake up early, you will be tired earlier at the end of the day. Going to bed early will allow you to get more sleep to be better prepared for the next day.
