Garlic: Garlic is very effective in treating whooping cough. Garlic extract is readily available in syrup form. You can take up to 1 tsp of the syrup 3 times a day. The syrup can be taken frequently during the day if the infection is severe.

Ginger: Ginger is effective for treating various common ailments. It is one of the most effective remedies for pertussis. You have to take ginger juice extract with fenugreek decoction. To prepare fenugreek decoction boil 1 tsp of fenugreek in 1 cup of water. Boil till the water level comes down by half. Mix 1 tsp of ginger juice with 1 cup of the prepared decoction. You can add a little honey for better taste.

Lemon: Take 3 lemons and extract juice, and mix with 2 beaten egg whites. Add 1 cup of olive oil and ½ cup of brown sugar. Mix it well. Take 1 tsp of the mixture few times a day. You can store it in the refrigerator.

Turmeric: Roasted turmeric powder is another good remedy. Mix 1 tsp of the powder in 1 cup of milk and take every day during morning and night. You can also add turmeric to your daily diet for better health.

Radish: Radish syrup can be prepared by mixing 1 tsp of radish juice with 1 tsp of honey, and adding a small amount of rock salt. You can take this syrup 3 times a day.

Almond Oil: Almond oil is a commonly used remedy in many households. Prepare a remedy by mixing 5 drops of almond oil with 10 drops of ginger and onion juice. You can take this 3 times a day for 2 weeks.

Basil: Basil leaves can effectively treat bronchitis and whooping cough. Mix 5 ml of juice with 10 ml of honey. Take this 3 times a day.

Other Remedial Measures

  • Take rest in a quite and cam environment.
  • Take fluids and nutritious foods to pump up your energy level. Carrot soup with red dates is good for cough.
  • Avoid getting exposed to hot, or polluted air.
  • Drink grape juice as it is very helpful in cleansing the nose, throat and mouth.
